Friday Sept 17th @ 7pm :: Nuyorican Poets Cafe

While Chile celebrates that weekend its 200th anniversary, we will take the opportunity of this show to reflect on the past and present, and conjure up our positive energies to bring a more just and peaceful future, through our South American rhythms, our melodies and poetry.  Once again we are gratefully accompanied by jazz contrabassist Ben Willis.

Sept. 11 :: Second Saturdays @ La Terraza

 September 11 is a fateful date known worldwide for the tragedy that hit New York City in 2001, but it is also a date that Chilean people remember with sadness and a renewed commitment to social justice as in 1973 it was the day the military government of Augusto Pinochet lead a coup d'etat, assassinating elected President Salvador Allende and installing a dictatorship that ruled Chile for more than 20 years. Saturday September 11 at La Terraza, we will be presenting a special repertoire in memory of the loss this date reminds us of, the lessons that we should learn from history, and in celebration of our power to heal and change the world.

This time again, we will be accompanied by our friend contrabassist Benjamin Willis. Don't miss it!
